#REDISCOVERING AYURVEDA

Rediscovering Ayurveda is Amrutam’s series of articles which will include various men and women and their ideas about Ayurveda. Even though, India is the birthplace of Ayurveda, with passing time it has lost its original importance as a school of life amongst Indians and many times have been limited to be referred as a school of medicine. Ayurveda is surely much more than that.

So, we at Amrutam decided to go out and find what Ayurveda means to people in the present day.
This is the eighth article in Amrutam’s series of articles called Rediscovering Ayurveda, which aims to understand the idea or perception that modern-day men and women carry about Ayurveda

REDISCOVERING AYURVEDA WITH SAURABH SONAWANE

Saurabh hails from Maharashtra, from the holy city of Nashik - having its connection with Indian mythology and the great Indian epic- Ramayana.

Saurabh is a certified yoga teacher and an ayurveda enthusiast.

WHAT IS YOUR IDEA OF AYURVEDA?

"My idea of Ayurveda is a balance between mind, body and spirit. Ayurveda is all about maintaining the balance and to live in harmony with your body type. If some imbalance occurs in three doshas mentioned in Ayurveda, diseases sets in. Ayurveda is a way of healthy living. And according to me, it's a lifestyle and everyone must follow it."

In very simple words, practising an ayurvedic lifestyle means synchronising your body, mind and spirit with nature. The word Ayurveda is formed by combining two ancient Sanskrit words: Ayur and Veda. Ayur means Life and Veda means the science or knowledge. Hence, in English, the word Ayurveda can be translated as the science of life.

That is the beauty of the Sanskrit language, its ability to capture the essence in just one word.

As Saurabh mentioned, there are two main guiding principles of Ayurveda.

  1. The connection between our mind, body and nature.
  2. The endless power of our mind and body to heal and transform

At Amrutam, these two basic principles and knowledge of ancient Ayurvedic scriptures are followed to formulate these ayurvedic malts for your health and beauty.

WHAT ARE YOUR TWO FAVORITE HEALTHY HABITS?

Drinking a glass of water just after waking up can help you remove the toxins (ama) through your body.

"Firstly, I drink two glass of water when I wake up, and it helps in removing toxins from my body and I feel light throughout the day. And then I practice yoga and pranayamas.
After my daily yoga practice, I take a small walk in the early morning sunlight."

INTERESTING FACT: Walking with the early rays of the sun, helps you get the necessary vitamin D and also boosts your mood.

HOW DID YOUR JOURNEY WITH AYURVEDA BEGIN?

"My journey with Ayurveda started when I started following yoga as a way of my life.
When I was pursuing a  diploma in yoga, I was introduced to shatkriyas, vamandhauti, jalneti, shudhikriya, shankhaprakshalana.
When I practiced these kriyas for the first time, I felt that all toxins (Ama) are removed from my body.
That was the trigger point and since then I have been practicisng yoga everyday and have also started reading a few books regarding Ayurveda."

Shatkriyas, Vamandhauti, Jalneti, Shudhikriya and Shankhaprakshalana are yogic kriyas which will help you cleanse your body.

HOW DO YOU THINK AWARENESS REGARDING AYURVEDA CAN BE INCREASED?

"Due to stress and poor lifestyle, people are suffering from many diseases today.
Ayurveda always works on the root cause of disease and eliminates the disease from its root.
With time, people are becoming aware of it and they are trying to be more natural.
To increase awareness we have to explain the principles of Ayurveda and yoga to people thoroughly so that they can understand the logic and science behind it.Once they know the facts they will begin to believe in it more.
Another way to increase the awareness about yoga and Ayurveda is to make the youth aware of it.
The young people are the backbone of our society and they can take the great Indian science to another level."

WHAT IS YOUR MESSAGE FOR ALL AYURVEDA, SPIRITUAL, YOGA AND HEALTHY LIVING ENTHUSIASTS?

There is a famous quote

"there is no glory in practice, but without practice, there is no glory"

"Yoga and Ayurveda are experiential sciences, so we have to practice day after day to see the benefits.
We become what we practice the most, then why not practice a healthy lifestyle, healthy eating habits as explained in Ayurveda and yoga.
And life will become simpler and healthier."

Amrutam Face Clean Up Reviews

Currently on my second bottle and happy with how this product has kept acne & breakouts in check. It doesn't leave the skin too dry and also doubles as a face mask.

Amrutam face clean up works great on any skin type, it has helped me keep my skin inflammation in check, helps with acne and clear the open pores. Continuous usage has helped lighten the pigmentation and scars as well. I have recommended the face clean up to many people and they have all loved it!!

This really changed the game of how to maintain skin soft supple and glowing! I’m using it since few weeks and see hell lot of difference in the skin I had before and now. I don’t need any makeup or foundation to cover my skin imperfections since now they are slowly fading away after I started using this! I would say this product doesn’t need any kind of review because it’s above par than expected. It’s a blind buy honestly . I’m looking forward to buy more products and repeat this regularly henceforth.
