It is no secret that Ayurveda is not just a school of medicine but a way of life. It is a lifestyle, a journey of getting to know the self and all those elements that constitute our human being.

In a world that constantly evolves at a faster-than-light pace, we often forget to take a moment and thank all the wonderful women that make our lives better, easier and happier! Be it your mom’s healthy recipes you just can’t get enough of or the teacher who helped you get over the fear of Math, the women in our lives play a significant role in bringing out the best of ourselves.

8th March is celebrated as International Women’s Day to celebrate all the fierce, hard-working, accommodating and brilliant women in our lives.

So, this International Women’s Day, we decided to amass all the fascinating and important tips derived from the philosophy of Ayurveda from the wonderful women that are part of our #AmrutamFamily!

#1. Nidhi Pandya

Nidhi is an Ayurvedic Health & Lifestyle Consultant and Educator based out of the US. Along with writing columns for the Ayurveda Health & Tourism Magazine, India’s number one and most acclaimed magazine on Ayurveda, she also teaches at the Shakti School of Ayurveda.

It is important to remain close to your roots because they help you understand your inner constitution. Everything you engage in affects your relationship with the self and Ayurveda helps you strengthen that relationship by keeping your mind and body healthy.”

Nidhi’s goal is to be able to communicate this timeless science in a way that appeals to our current intellectual generation. It is important to understand that modern Biology is not taught in the ‘nadis’ or ‘dhatus’ language. Hence, if we communicate this science in a way that appeals to the masses without compromising its authenticity, it won’t be wrong to say that we would win the battle!

#2. Pranita Pawar

Pranita is an Ayurvedic Doctor with a vast experience of over six years. For her, Ayurveda is a philosophy known to bring changes not only in the physical attributes and habits of a person but also in the mind and soul.

According to Pranita, waking up late or sleeping at odd hours are also the reasons people suffer from digestion related problems as they ignore the Agni within their bodies which disturbs the consumption cycle.

“Early mornings are considered to be the ideal time to perform asanas as the Agni (digestive & metabolic process) is the most active during that time. From 5 AM to 6 AM, the vibrations of the human body are extremely positive so performing any physical activity becomes all the more fruitful.”

#3. Sujala Roy

Sujala is a multi-talented individual who likes to describe herself as a Yogini, Youtuber, dancer, and explorer! As someone who can’t imagine not indulging in some kind of disciplined practice, be it physical, mental, or spiritual, she certainly likes to keep trying new things.

She is a staunch believer in the concept that one shouldn’t push the body beyond its tolerance power. Upon asking what advice would she have for the natural life enthusiasts, Sujala opines that most of the teachings are based on nature and observations from nature and the human body.

“It is important to learn to listen, to understand your body’s signals and take your health and well-being’s decisions based on that. What may work for you may not essentially work for someone else. It is significant to keep in mind what your body needs.”

#4. Shivangi Sharma

Shivangi is a professional Yoga Instructor who left the corporate work-life to pursue Yoga & Ayurveda which, as she describes, was her ‘true calling.’

To keep her body free of any ailment, Shivangi practices Jal Neti and Sutra Neti (cleansing of nasal paths) regularly and prefers to take an early dinner followed by a glass of turmeric milk an hour before sleeping.

“No matter how religiously you exercise, if your diet is not up to the mark, the practice will go in vain. One must consume fresh, seasonal and locally produced food items and refrain from indulging in processed or packaged foods.”

Shivangi also practices Abhyanga (oil massage) that helps in getting rid of toxins in the body and relaxes the muscles. Abhyanga can prove to be very helpful before performing the Asanas. Learning how to perform Abhyanga on our abdomens in the correct way has improved our digestion and applying sesame oil on the soles of our feet allows us to sleep soundly.

#5. Dixa Bhavsar

Dixa is an Ayurvedic Doctor who believes that Ayurveda is the ultimate savior of human life!

Vyayama, Kavala or Gandusha and my bedtime rituals are my most sought after habits”, says Dixa. Vyayama means performing a set of physical practices, Kavala and Gandhua (oil-pulling) are related to releasing the toxins out of your body.

They involve putting about a tablespoon of oil in your mouth and swishing it for about 15-20 minutes and is ideally done on an empty stomach but only after brushing your teeth. This helps in improving oral health, gum recession, and exercising our jaws.

All these tips clearly sound interesting and fascinating and the best part is that Ayurveda has no side effects! This International Women’s Day, let’s pledge to be more vigilant about our health and take the Ayurveda way like these brilliant women. This Women’s Day, let’s celebrate our health and the women in our lives, because after all, #HealthIsBeauty!

Amrutam Face Clean Up Reviews

Currently on my second bottle and happy with how this product has kept acne & breakouts in check. It doesn't leave the skin too dry and also doubles as a face mask.

Juhi Bhatt

Amrutam face clean up works great on any skin type, it has helped me keep my skin inflammation in check, helps with acne and clear the open pores. Continuous usage has helped lighten the pigmentation and scars as well. I have recommended the face clean up to many people and they have all loved it!!

Sakshi Dobhal

This really changed the game of how to maintain skin soft supple and glowing! I’m using it since few weeks and see hell lot of difference in the skin I had before and now. I don’t need any makeup or foundation to cover my skin imperfections since now they are slowly fading away after I started using this! I would say this product doesn’t need any kind of review because it’s above par than expected. It’s a blind buy honestly . I’m looking forward to buy more products and repeat this regularly henceforth.
