From ancient times, Ayurveda has been considered the Amrutam or elixir of life. It is a therapeutic gift of nature to mankind, where there is a cure for anything and everything. Ayurveda is almost magical, because of its unbelievable results to health and wellness. Even the little changes in one’s life, recommended by Ayurveda, a 5000 years old life science, can do wonders. Ayurveda is a holistic science of health, focusing on maintaining a physically and emotionally balanced state.

However, the truth of the matter is, Ayurveda is losing its true essence in the modern world, getting itself limited to fancy soaps and facial wash. After years of research and thoroughly reading the age-old texts, we have found that during those days, juices of various herbal plants were processed in an intensive scientific manner, with proper regulations of quantities of ingredients and the temperature at which it is heated. This process results in what is called काढ़ा in a regular Indian household, known as Malt or decoction in modern language.
Malt is usually black in colour, concentrated potion resulting from heating or boiling a lot of herbs and spices as a part of a medicinal preparation. Malts are considered to be the most authentic Indian recipes for effective healing, which eradicate the roots of the illness. In fact, preparation of plant-based remedies at the household level is often seen as a self-help measure.

However, a research study done by Daswani, Ghadge, Brijesh, and Birdi (2011), found out about the home-made remedy of the similar kind and revealed that preparation of a home-based remedy could be a limiting factor as it only uses the local medicinal plants that are easily available.
Amrutam has aimed to bridge that gap between the real Ayurveda and the real medicines through the guidance of Bhav Prakash Nighantu and other books. We have gone out of our ways to collect and grow herbal plants and spices from all across the country to prepare this healing potion for you. There are different malts prepared by Amrutam for different illnesses and wellness in general, as each malt has a different composition, different ingredients that have cured people from time immemorial.

You may wonder why other companies do not prepare malts if it’s claimed to be so effective. As the procedures to prepare malt is strict, hectic and extremely time-consuming. It takes more or less 3 months to prepare one type of malt. It does become challenging for us as a business company, but our major aim has been clear from the start, no matter how tough this path is, we believe in it and we know it holds in it the capacity to cure.

The procedures that we have referred to have been verified and credited by the Department of Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homoeopathy, abbreviated as AYUSH, which is a governmental body in India purposed with developing, education and research in Ayurveda (Indian traditional medicine), yoga, naturopathy, Unani, Siddha, homoeopathy, Sowa-rigpa (Traditional Tibetan medicine), and other Indigenous Medicine systems.
