Homemade Gulkand Paan Mix

Make this Homemade Gulkand Paan Mix with fresh paan leaves, Gulkand, fennel, coconut, nuts, and rose petals. A fragrant, festive after-meal mukhwas.

No festive meal feels quite complete without a little something sweet at the end.

Ingredients

▪️ 4–5 fresh paan leaves
▪️ 3 tbsp Gulkand
▪️ 2 tbsp desiccated coconut
▪️ 2 tbsp roasted fennel seeds
▪️  2 tbsp candied fennel seeds
▪️ 1 tbsp finely chopped almonds
▪️ 1 tbsp finely chopped pistachios
▪️ 1 tsp sesame seeds
▪️ ½ tsp cardamom powder
▪️ 1 tbsp dried rose petals
▪️ 1 tsp tutti frutti

Method

Step 1: Prepare the Paan Leaves

Wash the paan leaves and pat them completely dry. Remove the thick stem and finely chop the leaves.

Step 2: Prepare the Mukhwas

Lightly roast the fennel and sesame seeds. Let them cool completely.

Step 3: Mix Everything

In a bowl, combine chopped paan leaves, Gulkand, coconut, fennel, sesame, nuts, cardamom, tutti frutti, and rose petals.

Step 4: Let the Flavours Come Together

Mix well and let it rest for 10–15 minutes so the paan leaves absorb the floral sweetness of the Gulkand.

Step 5: Serve

Serve a small spoonful after festive meals as a homemade Paan Mukhwas.
