As the ancient saying goes, “The cure is often in nature’s lap,” many solutions to beautiful skin can be found in our kitchen and pantry. Forget fancy products with long ingredient lists; sometimes the simplest solutions are the best!

For centuries Ayurveda has given us a unique perspective on health and wellness. Ayurveda sees the mind, body and spirit as interconnected and true beauty comes from within.

One of the fundamental principles of Ayurveda is the gut skin connection. By following Ayurvedic dietary principles you can nourish your skin from the inside out and get a natural glow.

Ayurvedic Dietary Principles for Glowing Skin

  • Eat According to Your Dosha

One of the key principles of an Ayurvedic approach to beautiful skin is to eat according to your dosha. Here’s a quick look:

Vata Dosha: To balance Vata and skin, eat warm, cooked food that is easy to digest. Include healthy fats like ghee or avocado in your meals and grounding root vegetables like carrots, beets and potatoes. Drink warm water or herbal teas throughout the day.

Pitta Dosha: If you have Pitta as your dominant dosha, eat cooling and soothing food to calm your fiery nature. Eat plenty of cucumbers, leafy greens and other hydrating vegetables. Avoid spicy and acidic food that can aggravate Pitta like chilies, tomatoes and citrus fruits. Use cooling spices like coriander and fennel in your food.

Kapha Dosha: For Kapha dominant individuals eat lighter food that stimulates digestion. Sprouts, lentils and mung beans are good choices. Avoid heavy, sweet and oily food that can aggravate Kapha like rice, wheat and dairy. Eat astringent vegetables like broccoli and cauliflower.

In Ayurveda the digestive fire, Agni, is the key to overall health and wellness. When Agni is strong and balanced it allows nutrients to be absorbed from food and promotes healthy skin. When Agni is weak toxins accumulate in the body and manifest as skin problems like acne, blemishes and dullness.

To strengthen your Agni and digestion eat Ayurvedic digestive spices like ginger, cumin and fennel in your meals. Eat mindfully and avoid distractions while eating. Give your digestive system time to rest between meals by not snacking unhealthy.

  • Hydrate

Hydration is key to skin health and natural glow. Water is the nectar of life and Ayurveda says drink plenty of water throughout the day to keep your skin plump and hydrated. Besides water, herbal teas are a great way to stay hydrated and get the added antioxidants and medicinal properties of the herbs.

Superfoods for Glowing Skin

While following your dosha diet is key, adding these Ayurvedic superfoods to your daily routine can give you an extra glow. Here are a few:

  • Turmeric: This golden spice is anti-inflammatory and blood purifying. Regular consumption of turmeric can reduce inflammation and give you a clear radiant complexion.

  • Aloe Vera: Aloe vera is called the “plant of immortality” for a reason. Packed with vitamins, minerals and antioxidants it hydrates the body from within. This hydration reflects on your skin and makes it look plumper and more supple.

  • Mulethi: Licorice root extract has glutathione which is a skin-lightening compound. It can fade hyperpigmentation and dark spots and give you an even skin tone.

  • Leafy Greens: Packed with vitamins, minerals and antioxidants leafy greens like spinach, kale and collard greens are nutritional powerhouses that benefit your whole body including your skin. These greens detoxify the body, promote cell regeneration and give you a healthy youthful glow.

  • Almonds: Almonds are a good source of healthy fats and vitamin E a powerful antioxidant that protects the skin from free radicals. Add a handful of almonds to your daily diet and improve skin elasticity and reduce wrinkles.

  • Amla (Indian Gooseberry): This tart fruit is a powerhouse of Vitamin C an antioxidant that fights free radical damage and promotes collagen production for plumper,

  • Moringa: This superfood is packed with essential vitamins and minerals that nourish the skin from within. Moringa can improve skin elasticity and reduce wrinkles.

  • Dates: Dates are a good source of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants that keep skin hydrated and healthy. They also have a natural laxative effect that can eliminate toxins from the body and improve skin clarity.

By applying Ayurvedic principles to your life you can glow from within. Knowing your dosha and eating according to it is the base for a balanced radiant skin.

Remember beautiful skin is a journey, not a destination. Use Ayurvedic food choices, prioritize gut health and be holistic in your approach to wellness. As you nourish your body from within your skin will reflect your inner beauty.

Amrutam Face Clean Up Reviews

Currently on my second bottle and happy with how this product has kept acne & breakouts in check. It doesn't leave the skin too dry and also doubles as a face mask.

Amrutam face clean up works great on any skin type, it has helped me keep my skin inflammation in check, helps with acne and clear the open pores. Continuous usage has helped lighten the pigmentation and scars as well. I have recommended the face clean up to many people and they have all loved it!!

Sakshi Dobhal

This really changed the game of how to maintain skin soft supple and glowing! I’m using it since few weeks and see hell lot of difference in the skin I had before and now. I don’t need any makeup or foundation to cover my skin imperfections since now they are slowly fading away after I started using this! I would say this product doesn’t need any kind of review because it’s above par than expected. It’s a blind buy honestly . I’m looking forward to buy more products and repeat this regularly henceforth.
