PoSH Awareness- Last Week at Amrutam 28.03.2022

Here’s a glimpse of what happened at Amrutam last week!

What’s new at Amrutam?

As a community, it’s our responsibility to support issues that affect our society. According to NPR’s report, 38% of all women said they’ve experienced sexual harassment at work. This alarming situation calls for the need for immediate and effective actions. Thus, at Amrutam, we are taking an important step in creating safe spaces for all women, i.e., educating our community about their rights as working professionals.

  • Perpetrators are often not convicted because most of the time we fail to recognize acts of harassment. Sexual harassment does not need to be physical in nature. It can often take unexpected forms. This makes it crucial for us to learn more about them.
  • Vaginal dryness can be experienced during and after menopause. The symptoms of it may include soreness, itchiness, and increased instances of UTI. Therefore, relieving the symptoms becomes necessary. Here are a few natural ways to deal with this condition.
  • Hirsutism is characterized by increased hairiness caused as a result of excess male hormones in the body. Product of the Week:

Before we say anything, let’s hear what Momina has to say.

I am totally in love with this product. I take it every day after my workout, and it helps me so much in restoring my energy levels and alertness. I also don’t have to worry about my daily protein intake. The herbs in this malt are supposed to provide me with added benefits, as I am only on the first pack of it. I don’t know how that is helping yet, but I do feel that my skin has improved with this and my acne problems have reduced. It is definitely one of the tastiest jams I have ever had. Give it a go!

Momina Mathur

Amrutam’s Nari Soundarya Malt is an authentic herbal formulation inspired by Ayurvedic principles. It is enriched with the goodness of Ashoka, Gokhru, Lodhra, and Shatavari, which are beneficial in treating a host of menstrual and gynecological disorders like PCOS, low libido, menopause, dysmenorrhea, amenorrhea, and leucorrhea. The medicinal herbs are also effective in improving skin health and reducing stress and anxiety.

A perfect recipe made for you with love, 😊.

PoSH with Amrutam:

Supporting the cause of working women in India, lawyers and women’s rights activists filed a public interest litigation (PIL) in the Supreme Court under the banner of Vishaka. The Supreme Court, considering such grave concern, acknowledged the serious legislative shortcoming and acknowledged workplace sexual harassment as a human rights violation under the Constitution of India.

The Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition & Redressal) Act and Rules, 2013 (the PoSH Act) mandates every employer to “provide a safe working environment at the workplace which shall include safety from the persons coming into contact at the workplace”.

Rediscovering Ayurveda x Maria Jose Perez

Speaking for herself, the health crisis Maria had was not because she wasn’t trying to be healthy. It is quite literally the opposite of that! She was intently fasting, detoxing, and eating “healthy”. However, the most important part of the process was missing – being aware of her “self”. While it was Maria’s teachers who helped her come back to her true nature and self, she hopes to do that for others. She is also working to make Ayurveda a more accessible alternative because where she’s living right now, practices like Yoga, Pranayama, and Ayurveda are quite expensive and heavy on the pocket.

A quote we like:

We’ve forgotten what a regular body looks like. There are people out there who are struggling, and I’m struggling, and it’s okay to come to terms with the fact that it’s going to be a bit of a journey.

We hope that these learnings have expanded your understanding. 😊

And with it, that’s all for this week at Amrutam!
