Here's a glimpse of what happened last week at Amrutam.
Before we begin our discussions, there's a small exercise we'd like you to perform. For this, you need to close your eyes and look at your younger self. Once you've finely captured that innocent smile, we'd like you to review your journey from that point up till now. Feels amazing right?
Well now, close your eyes again and imagine your future self who has accomplished everything you've ever dreamed of. To be that person, it's vital for one to take care of self and make a choice of committing to a healthy lifestyle :D
In this week's newsletter, we've made an attempt to share a few ways that'll help you kickstart your journey towards abundant growth!
What’s new at Amrutam?
This week, we decided to take it slow and let July just be July! Along with mindfulness, let's practice gratitude and make this month a bit different from the rest :)

"Ayurveda & Lifestyle Disorders" ft. Dr. Vaishali Shukla & Naina Bajaria | S2 EP11
Following an 'Ayurvedic' lifestyle largely means being in sync with nature, eating as per your body type and spending time doing things you love. But thanks to modern-day lifestyles, many of us struggle with keeping up with our body clocks, unable to follow the circadian rhythm and end up consuming food and things that may not really be nutritious for our body. In this episode, host Shweta speaks about the prevention and treatment of the present-day lifestyle disorders.

Recipe of the Week
Indonesian Jamu Juice/ Turmeric-Amla-Ginger Juice
This herbal juice is a classic Indonesian health drink. Traditionally, the Jamu drink does not contain Amla. However, the addition of the bitter fruit only serves to enhance the taste and the beneficial properties of the drink. To make the drink
You will need:
- 250 grams of fresh Turmeric Root,
- 200 grams of Amla,
- 100 grams of Ginger,
- Honey (as per taste),
- 1 tsp of Black Pepper Powder and
- 1 liter of Water.
Directions:
- Finely chop the Turmeric, Ginger and Amla and add into a food grinder with one cup of water.
- Stop blending once the mix attains a pasty consistency. Use a strainer to separate the juice from the pulp. Repeat the process of blending the pulp and straining out the juice two more times.
- To the juice, add the Black Pepper Powder (1 tsp) and Honey (as per taste). Your Jamu Juice is ready!
How to Consume:
Store the Juice in the refrigerator and serve in 30 ml portions as chilled shots. The Jamu can be consumed any time of the day and is a refreshing post-workout drink.
Purpose:
The Turmeric-Amla-Ginger drink is a superb immunity-boosting consumable. The Anti-Inflammatory and Anti-Oxidant compounds from the raw ingredients help to prevent diseases and energize the body.

Rediscovering Ayurveda X Dr Sharon Samuel
When asked for the secret behind her good health, Dr. Sharon mentions that –
“One must respect the circadian rhythm and go along with it, treat your appetite with love, eat when you can as old age depends on today, exercise for at least 40 minutes a day and don’t forget to pause. Further for skin do not use too many products. Skin health is a lot about what happens inside”
A quote we like
