Gorging on all the delicious delicacies is what we look forward the most during the festival season. You may have mastered your festival alter ego and packed enough makeup swipes for your entire squad but the fear and constantly worrying about your face, hair and putting on all that extra weight will submerge you with your thoughts.
We know that your post-festival recovery would involve excessive exfoliation and bask in essential oils but self-care has become more of a daily requirement rather than an occasional obligation. Festivals are to have fun but life is to take care of yourself. So today we are going to share with you a few tips on how to take care of that healthy skin, luscious hair and gorgeous body of yours with the ongoing festival alert.
For healthy skin especially your face which gets the extra dollop of constant makeup during the festival season, you can always opt for homemade ubtan recipes to rejuvenate your face with that glow and even remove the pimple explosion and excess tan that refuses to go asap. This is the most basic go-to beauty ritual that has been passed down from generations to generations in our country.
Here are few Ubtan recipes you can use -
Ubtan to reduce tanning -
Mix 1 tablespoon of Besan (Gram Flour) with 1 tablespoon of Rice flour with a pinch of Haldi (Turmeric), 1 teaspoon of Lemon Juice, 1 teaspoon of Potato Juice and Rose water as needed. Make a thick paste and apply it wherever you are tanned. Once it dries, scrub it off with water in circular motions. Use it regularly to get rid of your tan.
Ubtan for pimple-prone skin -
Mix 1 tablespoon each of Red sandalwood powder and Multani Mitti (Fuller’s Earth), 1 teaspoon tomato juice, a handful of crushed mint leaves and 2 tablespoons neem paste. Apply it evenly in your face and let it dry. Wash it off with cold water. This will keep the pimples away, especially if you have oily or combination skin.
Ubtan for Winter Season -
Mix 2 tablespoons each of Milk Powder, Gram flour and Almond powder. Add a pinch of Turmeric and 1 tablespoon fresh cream and lemon juice, along with few drops of Olive Oil and Rose water as needed. Apply it on your face and body, especially areas prone to dry patches. Wash it off with lukewarm water once it dries. Skip the fresh cream, and use skim milk instead if you have very oily skin.
Ubtan to soothe and exfoliate skin -
Mix ½ cup gram flour, 1 tablespoon sandalwood powder, along with 4 tablespoons of full cream-milk and rose water as needed. Apply this on your skin, face, neck and arms and let it dry. Use lukewarm milk to scrub off the ubtan, before washing it off with water.
